South Georgia Whaling Station Project
Commissioned by the Government of South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands to survey the shore-based whaling stations of South Georgia Island, Geometria used extensive laser scanning and surveying to facilitate better long-term management, conservation planning, and wider interpretation of the sites.
Masonic Tavern Redevelopment
Constructed in 1864, the Masonic Tavern in Devonport, Auckland is now undergoing substantial redevelopment including the construction of apartments on the site. These works include the relocation of one building and restoration of the tavern facade to its original 19th century configuration. Excavations at the Masonic Tavern have revealed a rich tapestry of history covering both European and Maori occupation at the site.
Geometria evaluated the deterioration of the Ross Island Historic Huts and artifacts of Scott and Shackleton, and their environs, as part of the Antarctica New Zealand Event K021 scientific collaboration between the University of Waikato in New Zealand and the University of Minnesota in the USA along with Bath, Hong Kong and Western Cape Universities and conservation architects Archifact.
Bell Block Bypass
Geophysical surveys and excavations were undertaken at Bell Block following the discovery of a 19th century village called Te Oropuriri located within a development corridor earmarked for a motorway extension.
